Organizational Architecture IT Strategy and Governance Innovation Management and Governance Business andEven the most promising business strategies often fail to be carried into effect — instead, a few initiatives are started, but fade in the face of difficulties. The press of daily business overtakes the will to do things differently, interest wanes, and before long the strategy is nothing more than shelfware. Such “implementation failures” frequently result when strategic choices are made without clearly understanding the capabilities and configuration of the organization(s) charged with execution. This failure strikes in two ways:
Demanding capabilities or performance the organization (as constituted) cannot deliver
Failing to exploit capabilities or performance the organization could deliver
We work at the intersection of strategy and organizational capability, helping clients identify and rectify the gaps and contradictions that prevent strategy from successfully being implemented. Sometimes this requires making changes in the organization or its governance; sometimes it requires developing or changing the strategy so it is implementable to begin with; and sometimes both are necessary. Accordingly, we work with clients to develop and implement appropriate Business and Functional Strategies, Organizational Architecture, IT Strategy and Governance, and Innovation Management and Governance.
